Our SENCo is Mrs Foster email@example.com
Curriculum support is made up of a team of experienced staff including the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Assistant Headteacher and teaching assistants. The curriculum support team is based in the inclusion block (Taylor Building). This area is known as our Thrive provision. This provision provides a base from which to work with individuals and small groups of students. As a team we provide advice, guidance and support to students, staff and parents.
Thrive is open at all times of the day, supporting students with a wide range of needs. It offers a number of programmes of support, delivered by enthusiastic and effectively trained staff. The largest proportion of the support is classroom based with our teaching assistants working closely with subject teachers to enhance the learning experience of the students. Only a small minority of students access some of their learning in Thrive during the school day as we believe that our young people benefit most from being taught by subject specialists but with extra support alongside.
The curriculum support department aims to work closely with parents, students and staff to ensure that all students achieve their full potential and enjoy their learning.
