To ensure that we continue to limit the numbers of students that may need to be sent home and so that we can protect the most vulnerable in society, can I ask for your continued support with the following measures, I would also be grateful if you could discuss these with your son/daughter at home.

Face coverings need to be worn in communal areas of the school such as the corridors, toilets and moving around the school, it is advised that students bring a spare face covering to school so they have one to hand if they misplace their original.

Face coverings need to be worn on public buses to and from school as social distancing is extremely challenging on transport and students do need to wear their face coverings for the duration of the journey not just when they are arriving or leaving school.

We have had requests from the shops in Tottington that students also wear face coverings when going in.

Symptoms of Coronavirus from NHS England Website

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus, get a test to check if you have coronavirus as soon as possible. Stay at home and do not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.

Anyone you live with, and anyone in your support bubble, must also stay at home until you get your result.
