At Tottington High School, we aim to do everything we can to ensure the wellbeing of our students, parents, and staff.
The pastoral team provides support for any student who is experiencing any kind of difficulty, in and beyond school.
Form Tutors, Heads of Year and members of the wider pastoral structure are available to provide intervention and liaise with families. We also work closely with a number of outside agencies to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
Now, more than ever, we recognise how crucial it is to look after ourselves and one another. 2020 taught us all that mental health is so important, enabling many people to reach out to others.
You may be finding home-schooling and online learning away from your friends particularly difficult or be struggling with the work set. For help and support with this, please contact us. We are here for you. If you are feeling low, please speak to your parents, carers, teachers, or form tutor.

Have a routine and set short-term goals – plan regular calls with friends and loved ones and make time for regular breaks;
- Plan leisure time and exercise– head outside for a walk, discover online exercise classes, compile a reading list and set yourself a challenge, plan themed movie nights in or learn a new skill or rediscover an old one, such as baking;
- Look at your sleeping habits – sleep is essential for our mental health, so keep track of how many hours sleep you get and practice good habits before bedtime to help you relax and unwind such as having a warm milky drink;
- Enjoy a balanced diet packed with plenty of energy and mood-boosting foods such as fruit and foods rich in vitamin C and;
- Reach out for help as early as possible – it takes strength to ask for support.
